Ingredients You'll Need
- Fresh Lemon Juice: The key ingredient for classic lemonade flavor. Always use freshly squeezed juice for the best taste. Lime juice can be used as a substitute if needed.
- Granulated Sugar: Balances the tartness of the lemons. Adjust the amount based on the sweetness of your fruit and your personal preference.
- Filtered Water: Helps mellow and balance the strong, concentrated flavors of the lemon.
How to Make Fresh Lemonade Juice
Note: The full instructions are provided in the recipe card below.
- Squeeze enough lemons to get 2 cups of fresh juice (about 8 to 12 lemons).
- Strain the juice through a fine-mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp.
- Pour the strained juice into a large pitcher.
- Add 8 cups of filtered water and 1 cup of granulated sugar.
- Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness or tartness as needed.
- Add the lemon slices to the pitcher.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving, or serve immediately over ice.

Storage & Make Ahead
Storage: Store leftover lemonade in a covered pitcher or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Stir well before serving, as natural separation may occur.
Make Ahead: While homemade lemonade is best enjoyed fresh, you can make it up to 1 day in advance and keep it refrigerated. For the best flavor, stir again just before serving and add ice at the last minute.
