With a hint of cinnamon and the natural sweetness of apples, this cozy baked oatmeal is delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients You'll Need

  • Old-fashioned rolled oats: These provide a hearty texture and wholesome base for the oatmeal.
  • Light brown sugar: Adds a subtle sweetness and depth of flavor with its hint of molasses, complementing the apples and cinnamon.
  • Pecans: The nuts bring a nice crunch and a bit of richness.
  • Raisins: These add natural sweetness and a chewy texture.
  • Baking powder: This helps the oatmeal bake up light and fluffy.
  • Cinnamon: The warm spice of cinnamon enhances the cozy, comforting flavor of the oatmeal.
  • Kosher Salt: Just a pinch brings out the natural flavors of all the ingredients.
  • Eggs: The eggs bind the ingredients together, giving the oatmeal structure and a slightly custardy texture.
  • Milk: Adds moisture and richness.
  • Vanilla extract: Adds a hint of warmth and depth.
  • Unsalted butter: Adds richness and color.
  • Tart-sweet baking apples (like Honey Crisp): These apples bring natural sweetness, slight tartness, and a tender texture when baked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this dairy-free?

Yes, substitute the milk with almond or oat milk, and use coconut oil in place of butter.

Can I use quick oats instead of rolled oats?

Yes, but the texture will be mushier and may not have as distinct flavor. Old-fashioned oats work best for a hearty texture.
