    Notes

    How to Store & Re-Heat
    • To store: Place the Five Spice Powder in an airtight container, such as a glass jar or a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. Please keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Stored this way, Five Spice Powder lasts up to six months.
    • To reheat: Five Spice Powder doesn't necessarily need to be heated, but you can use it to season dishes while cooking. When using the spice blend in a recipe, add it to the dish while cooking and let it infuse the flavors as the dish cooks.
    Make-Ahead
You can make the Five Spice Powder ahead of time, as it stores well for several months if kept in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. This can be especially helpful if you use the spice blend frequently or want to have it on hand for quick and easy meals. You can also prepare the individual spices ahead of time by toasting and grinding them, then storing them separately until you're ready to make the Five Spice Powder. This can be helpful if you have a large quantity of a particular spice on hand or prefer pre-ground spices.
