Durazno con Crema
by Camila Benitez
Durazno con crema (Peaches and Cream) is a popular dessert in Paraguayan cuisine and many other regions of Latin America.
It combines sweet canned peaches with crema de leche (also known as media crema or table cream).

Drain the peaches, but save the syrup in case you want to adjust the consistency later. Cut the peaches into small cubes or slices.
In a large bowl, add the chopped peaches, table cream, and sugar. Stir everything together until the mixture is well combined and evenly coated.
If you prefer a more liquid texture, gradually add some of the reserved syrup, adjusting the amount to your preference. You can also skip this step if you prefer a thicker consistency.
For a creamier and more refreshing taste, refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes before serving (optional). Serve as is.
Storage, Make Ahead, & Freezing
- Storage: Keep the peach with cream mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Make Ahead: Prepare it 1 day in advance and refrigerate to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Freezing: I don't recommend freezing.
