Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 397 g (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons Nesquick strawberry
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla or strawberry extract
  • Sprinkles or granulated sugar to coat

Instructions

  • Combine the condensed milk, butter, and strawberry Nesquick powder in a small saucepan. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer, constantly stirring with a wooden spoon. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue stirring until the mixture thickens and, when stirred, pulls away from the bottom of the pan, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Remove Strawberry Truffles from the heat and place the mixture in a bowl.  Stir in the vanilla extract until combined; cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled all the way through, 2 hours.
  • Lightly butter your hands. Using a tablespoon or small scoop, scoop some of the truffle mixtures into your hands and roll them into a bite-size ball. Roll the truffle in one of the coatings and place it on mini foil cupcake liners or a plate. Continue with the remaining Strawberry Truffles. Store the Strawberry Truffles in the refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy!

Notes

How to Store & Re-Heat
  • To store: Place them in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to a week. If you want to keep them longer, you can freeze them for up to a month in a freezer-safe container.
  • To reheat: The Strawberry Truffles; it's best to allow them to come to room temperature.
Make-Ahead
Making Strawberry Truffles ahead of time is a great way to save time and prepare a delicious treat in advance. To make them ahead, prepare the truffle mixture, roll it into balls, and coat them in sprinkles or sugar as the recipe directs. Next, chill the truffles in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until they are firm.
Once they are firm, transfer them to an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to a month. To serve, allow the truffles to come to room temperature and re-roll them in fresh sprinkles or sugar if desired. Making these ahead of time is perfect for parties or gatherings or simply for a sweet treat that can be enjoyed anytime without the hassle of preparing them on the spot.
How to Freeze
To freeze Strawberry Truffles, prepare the truffle mixture, roll it into balls, and coat them in sprinkles or sugar. Freeze the truffles on a baking sheet until solid, then transfer them to a freezer-safe container or bag. Label with the date and recipe name, and freeze for up to a month. To serve, thaw at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour and re-roll in fresh sprinkles or sugar if needed. Freezing Strawberry Truffles is easy to make them ahead or store leftovers for later enjoyment.
