My family's holiday table wouldn't be complete without this sausage stuffing, a tried-and-true favorite that always hits the spot. My secret weapon? Pre-made stuffing cubes! They're a lifesaver during the holiday chaos, eliminating the eliminate the effort of cutting and drying out bread.
And then, of course, come the essentials for any classic stuffing base: butter (because, as you know, everything tastes better with butter, right?😏), onions, and celery. But the real star of the show is the sausage. My family loves spicy food, so spicy Italian sausage is always my go-to choice. I break it into hearty chunks and brown it until it's deliciously crispy.
The irresistible aroma fills the kitchen, tempting everyone to grab a crispy piece of sausage stuffing (including me!)🤭 🤭 Now, onto my secret ingredient: I use Granulated chicken bouillon instead of regular chicken broth—Knorr is my preferred brand. It adds an extra layer of depth and flavor, elevating the sausage stuffing to a new level.
I also add a blend of sage, rosemary, thyme, garlic, and just a hint of cilantro for a fresh, herby dimension. 🍗🌿 The best part? When it's ready, those golden, crunchy bits on top are always the first to disappear. Try out this Sausage Stuffing recipe, and I'm sure your family will be lining up for seconds and thirds, just like mine.🍽️👨👩👧👦😜

Camila's Tips
- Note that I don't add salt to the dish mix, as I use the chicken bouillon as a seasoning. I add just enough to season it and infuse it with plenty of flavor.
- The type of sausage you use will impact the flavor of your stuffing. Italian sausage, breakfast sausage, or even chorizo can all work well, depending on the flavor profile you're aiming for.
- No one likes dry stuffing. Make sure to add enough liquid (broth) to keep your stuffing moist and flavorful. Just be careful not to add too much and make it too soggy.
- Allow your stuffing to rest for a few minutes after cooking. This helps the flavors meld together and makes it easier to serve.

- 1 large sweet or yellow onion , diced
- 1 large red bell pepper , diced
- 3 large celery stalks , half lengthwise and sliced
- 5 garlic cloves , finely chopped
- 796 g ( 7 sausage links) spicy or sweet Italian sausage, casing removed, broken into bite-size chunks
- 2-¾ cups water combined with 1 tablespoon Knorr Granulated chicken flavor
- 1 large egg , beaten
- 10 fresh sage leaves , chopped
- 3 sprigs fresh rosemary , chopped
- 6 sprigs fresh thyme , chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper , to taste

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the stuffing cubes into a large mixing bowl.

- Add the cooked sausage (and any fat from the pan) to the bread stuffing and vegetables. Gently toss to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and Knorr Granulated chicken flavor until well combined. Gradually pour this liquid mixture into the bread, sausage, and vegetable mixture. Lightly toss everything together to combine, being careful not to break up the bread too much. This step helps to distribute the moisture and flavor evenly throughout the stuffing.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture to the prepared 9 x 13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Transfer everything to the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 65-75 minutes or until the top is golden and crispy.
- Once done, let it cool slightly before serving.
