How to Make Nutella Brownies
Note: The full instructions are provided in the recipe card below.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix a small amount of softened butter evenly over the bottom and sides of the 9x9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle a small amount of flour over the buttered dish, then tilt the dish to distribute the flour evenly. Turn the dish upside down over the sink or trash can to remove excess flour. Alternatively, you can line the baking pan with parchment paper and spray it with cooking spray. Cream the sugar, salt, and butter in a large bowl with an electric hand mixer until fluffy.
Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixer, running on low speed. Beat on medium-high speed until well combined. Then add 1 cup of Nutella and mix until everything is smooth and fluffy, scraping down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.
Add the flour and mix until fully combined; do not overmix. If you're using chocolate chips or nuts, gently fold them in. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining ¾ cup of Nutella on the batter. Using a skewer or knife to swirl the Nutella through the brownie batter creates a marbled effect. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove them from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut the brownies into squares and serve them alone or with vanilla ice cream.
